Internship Program Preference

Our agency is comprised of several different programs and within them are several different internship areas. Please check any areas of the Children’s Advocacy Network that you would be interested in assisting with. If there are any programs you are not at all interested in interning in, please put “N/A”. We have provided a summary of each position for your convenience, but please feel free to reach out to us with any questions.

Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC)

Interested

The intern will work with an agency supervisor and staff on various projects that may include but are not limited to assisting with incoming clients and their families, record keeping, participating in the MDT process and continuum of care, assisting CAC staff, observing forensic interviews, sending client referrals, and any other daily needs of the center.

Children’s Advocacy Network (CAN) Trauma Therapy Program

Interested

The CAN Trauma Therapy Program provides evidence-based trauma treatment for children and adolescents who have had trauma experiences. Typically intern duties look like managing referrals for the therapy program, scheduling appointments, assisting with Caregiver Support Groups, auditing files, attending multi-disciplinary meetings, and more! If interns are interested, we allow them to shadow sessions in the program to learn more about the clinical duties of a therapist.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Program

Interested

The intern will work with an agency supervisor and staff on scanning and uploading case documents, shredding confidential files, answering phones, checking the mail as well as other administrative duties. Occasionally an intern will audit case files and volunteer files, and update advocate files.
